GIN TASTING

Take a trip through the fun, facts and history of the UK’s quintessential spirit and discover new gin and mixer combos along the way. We’ll take you through a range of 4 different styles of gin to highlight key points in this beloved spirit’s history, we then elevate each gin with the addition of a paired mixer and fresh garnish to inspire your future G&T selections. You’re guaranteed to leave filled to the brim with gin knowledge!

THE FULL GIN EXPERIENCE

Take your gin journey to the next level with The Full Gin Experience! After the Gin Tasting, explore the chemistry of flavour through our interactive Science of Taste experiments to enhance your blending skills. With your new knowledge, you’ll craft your own unique gin blend, choosing from a variety of distillates, including zesty citrus and earthy pine notes of angelica. Once your recipe is perfected, we’ll save it for easy reordering whenever you like!

The experience

ARRIVAL

Please arrive 5 minutes before your session begins. The Liquor Studio is on the first floor, enter from Lower Briggate and come up the stairs to be greeted by your host.
THE GIN TASTING

Settle into the tasting room with a welcome drink and relax as we take you on a gin-filled journey for the next hour. Feel free to ask any questions along the way!
LET'S GET INTERACTIVE

If you're joining us for The Full Gin Experience, we’ll head to the Blending Room where it's time for interactive experiments that explore how your senses impact taste. Then, use your new knowledge to create your unique gin recipe. Name your blend, personalise the label, and hand the recipe to your host for future reorders.

My friend and I had the loveliest day at the Liquor Studio for the gin experience. John/Jon (not sure which) was so passionate about the history and science of gin. He had all of us laughing and made everything fun and interesting. We learned so much about gin and had so much fun tasting and making our own.

I took my mother as a Christmas present to liquor studio to make our own gin. The decor is wonderful, lots of soft woods and a huge array of spirits and things to mix them with. The hosts were incredibly engaging and very friendly. With our lack of knowledge in all things gin, they made us feel at ease. It was very informative, never boring. We also got to taste plenty of gins along the way!
